Terms of use

Last updated: 10 October 2026

In short

  • Reading the Bible, the verse of the day, searching for a word and comparing versions: open to everyone, with no account and no limit.
  • Asking the AI questions: within a usage limit, shown in the app. From age 16, or younger with a parent’s permission.
  • The AI can be wrong. The verses shown, however, always come from a version of the Bible, never from the AI.
  • You may reuse the answers freely, crediting Profondeur when you publish them.
  • Paid access, for one month or one year, is paid once: nothing renews by itself.
  • You can delete your account yourself, at any time.

Who we are

Profondeur is published by Zhilaquest. Its full details are given in the legal notice. To write to us: contact@profondeur.chat. In these terms, “we” means Zhilaquest; “Profondeur”, the service; “you”, the person who uses it.

Accepting these terms

By using Profondeur, you accept these terms. By creating an account, you accept them expressly. If an account was created for you by our team, you accept them by signing in to it for the first time.

What Profondeur does

Profondeur is a Bible reading companion, in French, English and Spanish.

  • With no account and no limit: read the Bible in several versions, compare versions, search for a word, receive a verse every day.
  • Within a usage limit: ask questions in five modes (Dictionary, Concordance, Study, Meditation, Quiz). The answers are produced by an artificial intelligence model.

What Profondeur does not do

  • The AI is a study tool, not an authority. It does not claim to pass on a revelation or a personal message from God.
  • It does not replace reading the Bible, prayer, church life, or the support of a pastor or someone close to you.
  • It does not settle debates between Christians: when several readings exist, it presents them with their arguments.
  • It does not give medical, legal or financial advice. If you are going through distress, turn to a person or a support service: the AI will point you to one.
  • It can be wrong. Check what matters to you, and read the Bible text itself. The verses shown always come from a version of the Bible stored in Profondeur, never from the AI.

Age

Reading the Bible, the verse of the day and search are open to everyone.

To ask questions and to create an account, you must be 16. If you are younger, first ask a parent for permission. To buy paid access, you must be an adult, or have a parent’s permission.

Your account

  • The account is free. You create it with an email address, which you confirm, and a password of at least 12 characters. Our team can also create one for you: you then receive an email to choose your password.
  • Keep your password to yourself. If you think someone else knows it, change it in “My account”: your other devices will be signed out.
  • You can delete your account at any time, from “My account”. Deletion is permanent; it takes effect as soon as possible, most often at once. It also ends any paid access in progress. A refund must be requested beforehand, while the account still exists.
  • An account with no sign-in for 3 years is deleted. We warn you by email one month before.
  • With an account, your conversations are kept in your history so that you can find them in “My conversations”. You can turn history off or clear it at any time in “My account”. How long they are kept is set out in the privacy policy.

Usage limits

The number of questions per day depends on your access: without an account, with a free account, or with paid access. These limits are shown in the app and reset at midnight, in your time zone. An account also has a monthly budget, which takes the length of exchanges into account; it renews every month on the account’s anniversary date or, with paid access, on the day of the payment that opened the access, and “My account” shows where you stand. With paid access, there is no daily limit: only the monthly budget applies. The length of a dictated question also depends on your access, and each dictation counts towards an account’s monthly budget.

They exist because every answer has a cost. They may change, and the app always shows the ones that apply to you. For free access, with or without an account, a reduction applies without notice. For paid access, a reduction is announced by email one month before.

An automatic brake also limits the number of requests sent from the same connection, to protect the service.

Paid access

What it includes. Paid access, for one month or one year, replaces the daily limit with a larger monthly budget, shown in “My account”, and lengthens a dictated question. A one-year access also keeps your conversations with no time limit, for as long as it lasts, and lifts the ceiling on conversations filed in projects. Everything else in Profondeur is the same, with or without paid access.

Price and payment. Prices are shown in US dollars on the “Unlock access” page, before any payment. Payment is collected by Chariow, a sales platform, by bank card or mobile money; its page shows the amount in your currency. Profondeur neither sees nor keeps your payment details.

Duration. The payment is a single one: nothing renews by itself. Access runs from the day of payment until the date shown in “My account”. A new purchase made before that date is added to it. At the end, your account becomes a free account again. After a one-year access, your conversations older than 12 months are erased, after the warning set out in the privacy policy.

Refund. You can ask for a refund of an access within 14 days of its payment, by writing to contact@profondeur.chat from your account’s email address. We give you back the price paid, less the part already used: the share of the monthly budget you have consumed, applied to the price of one month of access (for a one-year access, one twelfth of its price). If you have used 40% of that budget, we keep 40% of the price of one month. We tell you the amount and refund you as soon as possible; the paid access ends at that moment. After these 14 days, an access is only refunded in the case set out in “End of the service”.

If the access does not appear. It opens as soon as Chariow confirms the payment to us, most often in less than a minute. Otherwise, write to contact@profondeur.chat.

What you agree not to do

  • Get around the usage limits, for example by creating several accounts or automating questions.
  • Disrupt the service, try to break into it or extract its data in bulk.
  • Use Profondeur to produce or spread illegal, hateful, harassing or misleading content.
  • Write in your questions information about another person that could identify them.
  • Pass yourself off as Profondeur or as Zhilaquest, or resell access to the service.

In case of abuse

If your use breaches these terms, we first write to warn you. If it continues, we may suspend your account.

In case of serious abuse or an attack on the service, suspension may be immediate; we then tell you the reason by email.

If you think this is a mistake, write to us at contact@profondeur.chat.

Your questions and the answers

Your content. Your questions, your notes and your conversations remain yours. You only allow us to store and display them in order to provide the service to you.

Your questions. You remain responsible for them. To answer you, they are sent to an artificial intelligence provider, under the conditions described in the privacy policy. Avoid writing anything in them that could identify you.

The answers. You may copy, share and reuse them freely, for a study, a sermon or a reading group. When you reuse them in public, credit Profondeur. They are provided with no guarantee of accuracy.

The Bible texts are in the public domain.

Ownership

The interface, the app’s texts and the lexicon entries belong to Zhilaquest, under the conditions set out in the legal notice.

Availability and liability

We give Profondeur the care that can be expected of a service of this kind, but it may be interrupted, for example for maintenance. We are not liable for what is beyond our control, such as a provider’s outage or a network failure.

Profondeur is a study tool. To the extent permitted by law, Zhilaquest is not liable for decisions made on the strength of an AI answer. Nothing in these terms limits the rights that the law of your country guarantees you as a consumer.

Your data

What we keep, why and for how long: see the privacy policy.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top of the page changes too. If the change affects your rights or obligations, account holders are told by email one month before it applies, and can delete their account in the meantime. As an exception, when the change comes with an improvement to the service (a new feature, for example) and does not reduce your rights, it may apply without waiting for this period: you are then told by email at the latest on the day it applies. Continuing to use Profondeur once the change applies means you accept it.

Takeover of the service

Profondeur may be taken over by another company led by the same person. Account holders are told by email one month before, and can delete their account in the meantime. The new company takes over these terms and the privacy policy.

End of the service

If Profondeur shuts down, account holders are told by email one month before. Current paid access is refunded for the remaining period.

Language and validity

These terms exist in French, English and Spanish. If they differ, the French version prevails.

If a clause of these terms is held to be invalid, the others continue to apply.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Côte d’Ivoire. In case of disagreement, please write to us first at contact@profondeur.chat: we look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the courts of Abidjan have jurisdiction.

If you live in the European Union, you keep the protections that the law of your country gives you, and you may bring a claim before the courts of your country.
